Left the Island

So I have left Hyper Island for now and is currently at Hey, it’s Enrico Pallazzo for my internship!
I had some time to finish this I started a long time ago (last post?) and I had alot of fun doing it. Both the illustrations and putting it together in after effects.

Popup

 (klick for larger)

An Illustration I did yesterday as a start of an animation. I’ve always loved popup books and this week we had a lecture where a guy showed us a cute 3D animation with a popup book and I was super inspired. So I am doing one of my own. But in 2D.
It’s also a start of a much bigger project I’ve been planning for a while but haven’t had the time to start. But I hope I will this Spring.

Back

Ok, so I’m back at Hyper after my Christmas break.
It was great to see friends and Family again and not that hard to leave them since I will be back in a couple of months for my Internship. I am super excited about going to Berlin by the end of this month to see The Tiger Lillies! Yay!
I love Germany but have never been to Berlin and I hear it is great!

And here is something I did during Christmas. To bring some life to an Illustration I did. It is actually the sketch I posted a while ago.

Tiny Dancer

Because I had a lot of fun doing the last frame by frame animation I threw this together during a lunch.
Animated in photoshop and out together in after effects. Music is Utskickad by Oslepp.

Sketching

A while ago, some of my classmates and I went to Dr Sketchys anti art school here in Stockholm. In a tiny underground theatre with an adjoining bar with cheap beer, you meet and sit down with your sketchbooks and pencils and sketch people on stage dressed in crazy costumes, not so crazy costumes or barely no costumes. A concept so lovely I was quite exhilarated afterwards. I am a crappy sketcher. I rarely do it and when I do, I often try to make it as quickly as possible to get to the fun stuff – coloring. But why I think it’s so boring is probably because in my mind, I suck at it.
So I shall sketch more often. Because I want to be awesome.

So lets see what becomes of this. A sketch at a very early stage.

Ida’s place

A couple of weeks ago, I went home to visit my family and stopped by in Gothenburg to hang with my lovely girls for a night. We met at Ida’s place, had some food and wine and laughed and talked until I fell asleep on the floor surrounded by sheepskins and all sorts of hat paraphernalia.
Ida is a milliner and a costume seamstress so her apartment is always cramped with lovely fabrics, feathers and furs. Though this time, I was a bit surprised to find that the bathtub was filled with descaled fish skins… apparently good to use when making… stuff.

Another module ended

This time it was all about interface design and the client was swedish public service TV channel, SVT. The brief was about how their online service could work on a TV screen.
My group and I wanted to do something delightful and used a lot of playfulness to come up with Severt, the interactive remote control available to those who pay the public service television fee. The name Severt is a combination of the word “sevärt” meaning “worth seeing” in swedish and the old swedish name “Sivert”.

For the presentation I did some quick illustrations fitting our kawaii inspiration.
